Hi A friend was able to change the time frame on the chart by typing in the desired time frame. For some reason, this functionality isnt working for me. What do I need to do to get this to work ? Thanks |

The tools menu has nothing to do with being able to change the bar period with the keyboard. Make sure you have a chart active and do not have any other windows on top of it. Then select the "ESC" (Escape) key on your keyboard to ensure that the buffer that holds the text for changing bar periods is empty. Then, on your keyboard select '5' then 'm' then 'Enter'. This will change your bar period to 5 minutes. If it was already a 5 minute chart then enter '1', 'm', 'Enter' to change to a 1 minute chart. Let us know if this still does not work for you. There are a few things that could keep a chart from changing, so let's try a brand new chart and see if you are able to change it, then we can look into the other chart. Please start a brand new chart by selecting "File >> New Symbol" and entering a symbol and then opening an Intraday Chart. Once the chart has loaded, then make sure you have the chart active (be sure to click on it somewhere to ensure it is the active chart) and you do not have any other windows on top of it. Then select the "ESC" (Escape) key on your keyboard to ensure that the buffer that holds the text for changing bar periods is empty. Then, on your keyboard select '5' then 'm' then 'Enter'. Let us know if this works or not. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
