problem for real time data level2

hello, i'm using level2 (with the new charts _MBO) every day in live trade, after approximately 40 min (10:10 am N.Y,usa) the spreadsheet study which connect to level2 "disconnect" and reconnected after few seconds (even after a 1 min)... how can i fix it ? (i have lots of studies which work in the same chart,in 1 sec chart and i have a theory that the data which records after 40 min is high and because of it, the level2 starting to reconnect and disconnected, other theory is there is "problem" with the new charts _MBO) any way, i hope you have solution for me, regards. When you make reference to disconnect and reconnect, are you referring to actual data feed disconnects and reconnects that you are observing in the Window >>Message Log?

Also, do you have the Market Depth data limited in the number of levels that are displayed or used for calculations? If so, what is it set to? If so, what is it set to? number of levels for bid/ask depth calculation: 40 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ### the real issue is that, after 35 min it start to make problems (from 9:30 (N.Y, usa time, start of day trade in USA) to 10:05,it is look that is work good). ### and i need to mention that after this time(35 min) the display of the chart looks like not moving as smoothly as before 10:05. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** i done some tests which help me understand the problem (****after 10:05****). but i still not figure why specific after 10:05 the program start not to work smoothly and why the "blue line id2 and red line id4" start to disconnect/connect (****after 10:30 it just didn't connect automatically, and to get update, i need to refresh the chart manually) /// for the record i'm using 1 sec chart and i have in this chart over 400 studies. and so: 1. i checked the "market depth window", it was working (but still ****not smoothly as before 10:05**** ("blue line id2 and red line id4" -was still ****not working****) ) 2. i started to delete studies: after, i delete "daily OHLC" study, the "blue line id2 and red line id4" ****start to work****,but still ****not smoothly as before 10:05**** 3. after delete more and more studies,"blue line id2 and red line id4" ****started to work smoothly, as before 10:05**** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i know that many studies in the program are calculated for ****2000 bars**** as a default (as "spreadsheet formula" study, and "color bar based on alert condition "study"....) i checked all my studies ("spreadsheet formula" study, and "color bar based on alert condition "study"), and the "number of bars to calculate" in them are: 40,000 in the "chart settings", the "session start time" set to 9:30 in 1 sec chart,2000 bars are 33.33 min(and it means 10:03:33)...it is very Suspiciously that at about 10:05 the problem start to begin . i hope your technical stuff will help me to get a real solution (and not what i actually did), and please try to think why it just start after about 10:05 many thanks. 1. Is your computer going to sleep at that time, or are you actually disconnected/not using the system at that time? my computer not going to sleep at this time, the system working, connected at those times. 2. What is the time zone of your chart? new york(-5 est/-4 edt) .... 3. please add the "Bid and Ask Depth Bars" study by itself (in a region of its own) and see if the study on its own shows a problem i will check it in the next week trade ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. "blue line id2 and red line id4" not work good after 10:05 and the program not work as smoothly as before 10:05 --- i notice for "something new": im using lots of "spread sheet formula" study which in the "number of bars to calculate" in them i changed to : 40,000 ..... *** the calculation time("After each study name, is the calculation time in milliseconds during the last full recalculation of the study") of each spreadsheet formula depend it (when i decrese the number of "number of bars to calculate", then the "calculation time" decrese as well. whats mean that after about 10:05 (about 2000 bars to calculate, your program can't handle with this)... **** it is look that this is the real problem (i think). 5. if i dont want to change this "number of bars to calculate" which will be less then 2000 bars, and i cant decrese the numbers of studies that i have (i have in this specific chart about of 400 studies). what should u can advice me to do ? 6. if i will choose to change this "number of bars to calculate" in the "spread sheet formula" study, there is away to do it all at once (i have about 300 of it) ? If you can, we need for you to open a new chartbook without having the other one open, and open a new chart and add just the Bid and Ask Depth Bars study to that chart. Then let it run and let us know if you have the same issue with that chart.

From our perspective it is hard for us to understand this. And it is not within the scope of our support to be troubleshooting complex set ups. If you have been interdependency between studies and charts there could be a study calculation order issue: Chart Studies: Study Calculation Precedence And Related Issues There may be also problem where Sierra Chart is running out of available memory or there is no longer storage space available to record data affecting the Bid and Ask Depth Bars studies. Both of these conditions will be logged in the Window >> Message Log. You need to approach the problem with a step-by-step a troubleshooting procedure where you remove all charts and all studies and start with one chart and one study like the Bid and Ask Depth Bars study and see if that works properly. If so, then you go to the next step until you isolate where the problem is. We do not know what the problem you are having is. the performance (chart settings-> performance) decreasing when i change the time session or when i change the calculate bar (at spreadsheet formula study) ... * how can delete the data before amount of bars (lets suppose 300 bars)? * how can i change session time to "last amount of bars" (instead of changing "session start time", every 5 min (300 bars for 1 sec chart), i want to get only this 300 bars automatically without that i need to change this parameter every 5 min)? ## (if there is a "button" that change this "session start time" to (now time - 300 seconds), is good for me as well, if there is not, how can i made this button)? * how can i delete data automaticly after 300 bars (300 seconds)? thank you. |

We do not have a way to have just 300 bars in a chart. You would have to create a custom study that would change the Session Times based on the timeframe of the chart. You would have to limit your Session Times to those 5 minutes. It is possible.

If you are wanting a rolling 5 minutes, then this is not possible. You can set the Session Times to a specific 5 minute window. But there is no support for just showing the last 5 minutes and continually moving forward.
