Dear Sir/Madam, I have installed Sierra Charts on another laptop. I exported my old charts from the original data folder to the new one and I can see a big black screen after loading them. Also, it does not do anything apart from being black. The chart's name is on the top of the screen. Can you please tell me how to import the charts so the formatting is kept and I can plug and play them? Thank you.

Kind regards.

What you did was correct. You just need to copy the files that end in .cht to get the chartbooks to the new computer. There are other files you may want as well, for this refer to the following section:
Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation: Transferring Sierra Chart Settings and Data From Existing Installation to New Installation

Our guess as to the issue you are having is that your new computer is not set to the same Data/Trade Service Settings as your old one, therefore your symbols are not the same. Make sure you go to "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Main Settings" and setup your connection to your trading service, or however you had it set on the old computer.

This should solve it. Or, if you wanted it to be different for some reason, then open the chartbooks and select "Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service", which will change the symbols of the charts based on what your current service is set to.
