Hello I am having an issue with trade position line disappearing as soon as a trade is triggered. The green position line stays for a few seconds and then disappears. (The red bracket order is still showing) The trade window shows the position as Flat and the Trade Positions windows is completely blank.

I have read the below post and understand that it may be because IB is not sending positon data:
Interactive Brokers Trading Service: Trade Position Line or Quantity Disappearing or Displaying Zero

This has started to happen recently as everything was fine in August. I am aware that IB TWS has many API issues and could have been a result of TWS update or I may have inadvertently clicked on something i shouldn't have.

Could you please give me some solution to this, I have been going over the documentation but may have missed a solution.

Could it have any relation to my timezone GMT +4?

We wish we had a solution to this, but unfortunately the situation still exists.

I noticed that one solution explained in another thread was to use "Order Fill calculated position" - documentation mentions: "Although with this method you must be very diligent to make sure you have all of the order fills for the Symbol and Trade Account being traded."

Can you explain what I should watch out for if I use this method and is it safe to day trade with it.

In the meantime, I will check what's the current Sierra chart version and update it.

You just need to make sure that the Position displayed is correct when using the order fill calculated position. You should be verifying it, whenever there is an order fill.

I just realized that this started happening this month after I have opted out of TWS real time Futures data relying on the Denali only. It could be possible that position data is not updated accurately because of lack of real time data from the broker. Just a thought I may be wrong.

Currently using the order fill calculated position. It seems to work well.
