Hi Support,

I want to set up my footprint chart to look like the attached image. I've been trying different options available in the study but can't seem to figure out the correct configuration.

Please let me know if you are able to help and send the correct setting necessary to achieve this result.

Thank you.

Ok, I am making progress after watching the tutorial video. Please see attached.

Next, I am unsure which indicator is located at the bottom of my first image attached above. If you are able to distinguish it and tell me which one it is that would be super helpful.

Second, I'd like to set the footprint bars to a size of 20 ticks before a new one forms. I am in the Chart > Chart Settings > Bar Period...If this is the correct location please let me know which setting to change to 20 ticks. I am making the assumption that "Bar Period Value" may be the one but not sure about that. If this is the wrong location, please direct me to where I can achieve this result.

Thank you for your time.

Sorry, but there are so many options for what that could be that we can not say. But if you tell us what information you are looking to display down there, then we can point you to an appropriate study.

For the Bar Period, you need to change the "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Bar Period >> Bar Period Type" to "Number of Trades". Then enter "20" in the "Bar Period Value". Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Intraday Chart Bar Period >> Bar Period Type >> Number of Trades Per Bar (Chart >> Chart Settings menu)

Thank you, John. I had a feeling that was the area but wasn't sure which setting to change.

I made a decent bit of progress as shown in the second screenshot attached in my second post for how I want the footprint chart to look.

The next thing I am unsure of how to do is change the colors in column 2 to show when a certain number reaches a threshold. Please refer to post 1 screenshot 1 (footprint_sierra charts).
In that image, you can see that smaller numbers are a darker gray and the higher numbers are a lighter gray.

I am aware of how to change the color for that column but not sure how to have a certain scale for when the color changes from dark to light gray.

So I would like to have something along the lines of

0-250 : Dark Gray
251-500: Medium Gray
501+ : Light Gray

How can I go about adjusting the color of column 2 to show this?

Thank you

The controls for when a particular color is used are the "Percent Compare Thresholds" and "Actual Volume Compare Thresholds". Which one is used depends on what your "Background Coloring Method" for that column is set to. For example if the "Background Coloring Method" is set to "Based on Volume Percentage", then the "Percent Compare Thresholds" are used.

If you are unsure of what is used, then in the following section it gives the information for each of the Background Coloring Methods:
Numbers Bars: Color Settings and Logic for Numbers Bars

And also refer to the specific information for each of the compare threshold options at the following links:
Numbers Bars: Column # Percent Compare Thresholds

Numbers Bars: Column # Actual Volume Compare Thresholds

Thank you.

Lastly, do you know which indicator is shown at the bottom of the screenshot in my first post? Looks like some delta indicator but can't say for sure. Maybe you can distinguish it?

As we stated in post #3, we have no idea, as there are too many possibilities. But what do you want to see?

My apologies, John. I thought you were referencing the footprint chart and not the study at the bottom. Thank you again for your quick responses.

Okay, I am looking to see the bid/ask volume price difference in a candle stick or volume-type format. As seen in the image in post 1, the blue bars furthest to the right are increasing in size as more bids hit the market and there is more buying than selling in those specific bars.

I would like to see which side (buyers vs. sellers) is more dominant during each footprint bar.

Please let me know if you are able to point me in the right direction.

Thank you

There are a number of different studies depending on what you want (we are not 100% sure of which one you are looking for from your description). Take a look at the following to determine which one is right for you:

Ask/Bid Volume Difference Bars

Bid & Ask Depth Bars

Bid & Ask Prices
(we do not think this is what you want, but you mentioned prices, so we wanted to make sure you were aware of this)

Bid Volume vs Ask Volume

Bid Ask Volume Ratio

Ask Volume

Bid Volume
