Chart numbering gets messed up when programmatically opening charts. I have a ASCIL study using OpenChartOrGetChartReference on chart #1, and i have a spreadsheet study that references chart #2 which is a monthly chart. when i programmatically open a new chart, it is assigned chart #2. While looking into this problem, we discovered a bug we need to fix but unrelated to what you are describing. We see no reason whatsoever that a chart number would get reused. This looks to be completely impossible. And to this very day there has never been any known case of this. We do not believe that this is what is actually happening. There must be some other explanation. An explanation for what is happening though is that these two charts that have chart number 2, are in different Chartbooks and one of them is set to always be visible. Is that the case? regrettably this is not the case. Its happened as described, because it actually broke an overlay study, which is how i noticed it. http://screencast.com/t/cFXKguGQT However, if i build a clean chartbook and attempt a simplified repro, i am unable to reproduce it using the same study code. The chartbook that repros this has several nested overlay and spreadsheet studies. There must be something with that. If i am able to get a clean repro i will respond again in this thread. Thanks for looking at it so quickly, you guys are really on top of things! |
