Hi John,
I have had this issue before(and yes this reply will go into my SC folder haha) but there are times, and recently it's happened twice, that when the computer goes to sleep it loses data. As you can see from the charts in bonds and nq when the computer was on standby the data got lost. YES, I did go to edit-delete and reload all data. Still missing. Also as you will see in the nq chart 'downloading...' that is still downloading after I hit the delete/reload. No matter what I do it still takes foreeeeeeeever to download and come back to full working.

I remember you had me do something more advanced, could you tell me again, please?

Also, is SC codable like Trading Tech is? You know I am STUPID re that stuff but a friend who is looking at getting SC, as I have said how wonderful the charts are, wants to take data off charts and make algos out of it. He's really smart don't worry, Cal Tech, and has built lots of stuff like this for firms. But can you do it with SC? My blond brain says 'well isn't that in a way what OFL Tools are?' ie that tool is nothing more than an algo putting their tools onto SC. Is that right?

thanks mate for all your time! Karen

What is odd is that when your computer comes back out of "sleep" Sierra Chart should recognize that there has been a lapse of data and automatically download it.

But, if you have this problem, then the instructions you want to follow are at the following link:
Data Errors or Spikes in Charts, Flat or Flat Line Graph, Compressed Graph, Errors with Date/Time Values: 2.1.2 Deleting and Re-downloading Data. (Easier and Recommended Method)

In terms of the time it takes to reload the data, it's hard for us to say. It states that this is a Continuous Contract, so the number of days that are being loaded will have the largest impact on how long it takes to load the data.

We can't speak to Trading Tech - but yes - Sierra Chart is "codable". We have an interface called ACSIL which uses the standard C++ language. Have your friend start at the following link:
Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language (ACSIL): Introduction

I restarted my computer for the week. It's going on 15min and it's still loading. This is all I have. Sigh...

It is going to take awhile to download since there is so much data there. Did it eventually load?

yes, it did. I guess I am being too demanding(surprise haha) in asking the computer to download years of tick data quickly. the normal chartbook download fine, it's just these market profiles that go back years that are slow.

thank you!
