When I open a chartbook with a spreadsheet (which was working yesterday) it causes Sierra Chart to freeze. Then I have to use task manager to close Sierra Chart.

****** But it is also freezing Sierra Chart when I try to simply add a new spreadsheet study to a simple chart.

The CPU usage is 18% at when this happens.

I have set all chart update intervals to 1 second but nothing has changed.

I've tried deleting old chart files and chartbooks, but it did not help.

I looked at old support requests with similar issues but the solutions/answers did not help me. Thank you

If you start a new Chartbook and try to add the Spreadsheet Study to it - do you have the same problem?

If not, then we would want to get the Chartbook for which you are having the issue. Refer to the instructions at the following link for how to get us the file:

Yes.

We just want to make sure of the situation. Please make sure you close all chartbooks and then open a new chart and then add the Spreadsheet Study to that chart. Have you done this and had it lock up, or please try it and see and let us know.

Yes. That is correct.
When I have no chartbooks open and then I open a new chart and attempt to add a spreadsheet study, Sierra Charts becomes unresponsive/freezes up.

Our guess is that there is a corrupted default spreadsheet file. We need for you to go to the Sierra Chart Data folder (typically C:\SierraChart\Data) using your file explorer window and delete (or move to a different folder) the file named DefaultSpreadsheetStudy.scss.

Note that the location of the folder above may differ on your system based on the location to which you installed your Sierra Chart. But the folder under the main Sierra Chart will be named Data. If you are unsure of where this is located, then open Global Settings >> General Settings >> Paths and look at the entry for Data Files Folder. That is the folder you want to go to.

After you move/remove that file then try opening a Spreadsheet Study again and see if you have the same issue.

Just be aware that if you had saved a Spreadsheet with that name, then you will need to redo that spreadsheet.
