I never get crashes from main Sierra Chart but have had 50+ in a second instance. On a DOM I hit F6 then Add Custom Study and BAM crashed 75% of the time. I have to restart over and over to get lucky to add a study without crashes and then save chartbook. I'm using 2 instances to have my DOM have faster response time since main Sierra is using 9%+ CPU and during fast markets the DOM updating is very slow. These crashes are driving me nuts.

Can you add a standard Sierra Chart study to the chart without any issue? If so, then we would have to believe that the issue is related to a custom study that you have in the sub-instance. You would have to figure out which one, if you have multiples, by moving each one out of the folder and then going to Add Custom Study until you do not have an issue any longer. The last one moved would be the culprit. Also, do you have the same issue in the Main instance doing the same thing? If you can get to the study in the Main Instance, then you should try copying the study to the sub-instance again. It sounds like it may have gotten corrupted somehow. Hi, It crashes as SOON as I press the button to bring up 3rd party studies. None were selected nor added simply hitting that button causes the crash 100% of the time. Times where this doesn't cause crash I can then add 3rd party study. |

The system goes through the process of opening the DLLs in order to get the information of the names of the studies that are inside. Therefore, this is most likely related to a bad DLL file in that sub-instance, which is causing a problem when it is trying to find the studies.

That kind of makes sense but then again the same DLL's are in regular Data folder too so it should also crash but never does. I'll go through them and move to backup directory and slowly add back those I need.
