SITUATION 1: M1 to M1 I have two charts - right side: a Source chart ES M1 with a simple Below Bar Delta study - left side: destination chart ES M1 with the Study/Price Overlay Study (Standard Config/Independent Scale) to catch the data from the Source chart SITUATION 2: Range24 to M1 - right side: a Source chart ES Range24 with a simple Below Bar Delta study - left side: (as above) destination chart ES M1 with the Study/Price Overlay Study (Standard Config/Independent Scale) to catch the data from the Source chart In both cases the Source Study is not projected correctly to the Target-Chart. How can this be done? (3 images attached) |

What is exactly meant by this?: is not projected correctly to the Target-Chart.

Did you care to look at the screenshots? This would have explained it easily. The study promises to overlay a study from chart a to chart b. But this does not work. As you can easily see on the screenshots. |

Yes we did. We do not know what you are referring to at all. Tell us what the problem is. We do not know what you want. And we do not know what you perceive as a problem. We do not know. What is clear to you is not clear to us at all. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Oh, believe me. I don't understand you as well, dear service member. Okay. Lets start from the beginning: 1 The study is called: Study/Price Overlay Study 2 In the documentation you write: "The Study/Price Overlay study overlays a study or price graph from another chart onto a chart. Multiple Study/Price Overlay studies can be added to a chart to overlay more than one study or price graph on a chart." 3 So in the Screenshots you see that I overlayed a M1 chart with a Study from another M1 chart. I am reapeating this, so you can understand: I OVERLAYED an M1 chart with a study from another M1 chart. (Hope this helps to understand) 4 The values from the overlayed study are NOT at the same places than in the original study (which is clear if you check the screenshots) So, the question is: HOW CAN I OVERLAY THE VALUES FROM THE FIRST STUDY TO THE SECOND STUDY at the same position than in the first study? If this is not understandable still, I guess you and me don't speak the same language. Then I would appreciate if you could ask one of your colleagues to answer this question. |

First, in the image where you have an M1 chart to an M1 chart, the data is aligned with the bars as expected. For instance, if you look at the bar at time of 21:56 it shows a value of -872 in both charts. Therefore the overlay was done correctly. If you are referring to the position of the numbers above/below the bars in this case, then we do not have enough information to tell you exactly what is occurring as we do not know what the settings are for the source chart. But take a look at the Subgraph Settings and if you need to change them on the Study/Price Overlay then keep in mind that you first need to set the options for Use Subgraph Name/Value Related Display Settings and Use Styles and Widths from Source Study to No first. With regards to the Range24 to M1, keep in mind that the data is copied based on times. We can not tell what is what from the image alone, but the main Input that would affect where the data lands is Bar Time Matching Method. You can try changing between the options with this Input to see if you get what you want. Thank you for taking over, John. I tried EVERYTHING. Clicked on every button, tried out every configuration. To make a long story short: I include the chart and maybe you could just change the configuration to make it work. There is a source-M1-chart and a destination-M1-chart and a destination-Range-chart. |

We see what the problem is. You are trying to overlay a specialized Draw Style: Chart Studies: Custom Value At Y (ACSIL: DRAWSTYLE_CUSTOM_VALUE_AT_Y) The Study/Price Overlay study does not have support for this but we will see if we can add that. You would not have a problem with standard Draw Styles used by studies. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. This will be solved in the next release. We were able to implement a solution for this.
