Hi, As a programmer myself, I know this request will likely require a complete rework of the code behind it. But its something thats definitely frustrating and needs to get fixed. My DOM's are ultra fast theyre updating blazingly fast and all is good. But as a scalper, I like to be able to quickly pull and move orders and place new ones etc etc. This requires my mouse to be pretty active inside the Bid and Ask columns. Only problem is.....when my mouse is moving/hovering alot around these columns, the DOM updates slow to a crawl. And depending on how much I move my mouse, I can even stop the updates completely. This is very detrimental to my trading.....is there anyways this can be fixed??? I take it that on every move to a new cell, some calculation is happening....which is severely impacting the DOM's performance. But can this calculation not happen on click instead?? That way I can hover and move my mouse as much as I like without affecting the updates, and then clicking triggers the setting of whatever is being set in the background when I hover. (right now). Please let mw know Thanks Kylie I can upload a video of what I mean, to help you understand what I mean, and how this is exctremelty detrimental to scalping. |

Here is a video showing the bahaviour. In the video I move my mouse vigorously in the price column and you can see, the DOM updates fine. As soon as I start putting my mouse in the Bid or Ask columns, the DOM updates slow to a crawl. When Im scalping, my mouse spends about 90% of the time hovering in either of these columns. Meaning my DOM is literally always a little laggy. Is there anyway this behaviour can be corrected???? Thanks |

No not at all: I take it that on every move to a new cell, some calculation is happening...
This issue must be specific to your system. Or possibly for some unknown reason related to the chart configuration. Makes no sense and we are not able to reproduce it and we do not believe any other user would be able to reproduce. No this is not the case at all: I know this request will likely require a complete rework of the code behind it.
If you are using OpenGL try disabling that . Open a new chart without any Chart Drawings in case there is some unknown issue with that. And without any orders and see if it makes a difference. Actually we know what the problem is. There are certain conditions where that type of action can cause an entire redraw the chart. We made one change, which should avoid this. This will be out in the next release. The change is dependent on this option being set to No: Global Trade Settings Windows: Show Limit/Stop in Trade Mode Box (Global Settings >> Chart Trade Settings >> General >> Other) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
