Version 2411 not loading study collections

I updated to version 2411 yesterday. My preset study collections are not loading.

The charts and indicators saved in my chartbooks load properly. If I try to change a chart's study layout through the "Analysis" menu, the result is a clean default chart. For example, I have a chart in my chartbook preset with a Moving Average with volume. I load the chartbook, and the chart appears properly. I go to the "Analysis" pull down menu and selection a study collection called "Clean Chart-Volume". This should display the default price chart with the volume bars below. The result is a default price chart with no indicators (no volume).

I checked the Data directory, and the *.StdyCollct files are still there. I used these study collections a week or two ago, so they recently displayed properly.

What should be my next troubleshooting step? I have rebooted my computer. Same results after restart. Do I need to uninstall and re-install SC? If so, how do I protect my price and study collection data in the Data directory?

They will need to be updated if you have not saved them for more than two years.

The instructions here apply to Chartbooks but can also be used for Study Collections:
Chartbooks (Workspaces): Opening Older Chartbooks

You will want to go back to the particular version mentioned or to the version you were running previously and then apply the Study Collections to a chart and resave them.

Hi Support,

The issue is not with Chartbooks. It is with Study Collections. The chartbooks load fine. The previous version prior to the update was 2402. The Study Collections worked fine with 2402.

I used the Chartbook explanation to explain that the study collections saved in an existing chartbook load properly.

I can make a new Chartbook and open a new Intraday chart. I try to apply the Study Collection through the "Analysis" menu to add a collection of standard, non-custom studies, and the chart remains default setup.

Thank you,
Jabberwocky

I've had this Forum ID for ten years or more. How do I reconnect it to my paid account?

Ok, we found your paid account. We will try to remember this for next time.

If the Study Collection itself was created relatively long ago, then it is possible that it is not directly compatible with the current release and therefore would need to go through the process as a Chartbook to make it compatible with the current version of software. This would involve downgrading to version 2363 and then loading the Study Collection and then resaving it. If you are not able to open the Study Collection in 2363, then you would need to go back to 2204, load and save, then to 2363, load and save, and then to the current version to load it.

Or, you can attach the Study Collection to this thread for us to take a look at it and go through the process for you.

Attach the Study Collection file here and we will see what the issue is.

Hi Support:

I posted a reply yesterday, but it doesn't appear.

Attached is a study collection as a reference, The "Clean Volume Chart". This study should show just the price chart above the volume.

None of the preprogrammed study collections load any studies. Selecting the Ichimoku, Woodie, or other studies result in a bare price chart. Screenshot of results at:

Here is the Clean Volume Chart study collection which we resaved in an older version and works fine in the latest version.

The Ichimoku study collection is having a different issue that we need to look into further.

Hi Support:

Yes, the file you sent back to me opens properly. Thank you. I don't use the Ichimoku study collection, though I am sure some users do. I just included it as an example, since none of the pre-packaged were working. Not sure if all of the study collections were corrupted when I updated. The replacement worked fine. I copied an old version of a custom study collection I made from my backup, and it would not load properly.

Running Windows 10, all updates applied. Sufficient disk space and RAM. Virus protection up to date.

Thank you,
Jabberwocky

The only "pre-packaged" Study Collection that we send with the system is the "Clean Chart" study collection.

But, there are a few study collections in our "Additional Files" and that is where you will find the "Ichimoku" study collection, and it does need to be updated, as it is not working properly. We will work on that.
