What markets do you need data for or want to trade? For example, what particular futures, Forex or stock symbols. You can also give us the exchanges that the particular symbol or symbols trade on.

We have definitely no recommendation at all, for a broker in the UK and we would not advise that. You will need to use our Teton Order Routing Service for these markets:

You will need to use one of the brokers listed at step 2 here:

I would like to recommend Interactive Brokers, have been using them for almost a decade, very happy with their service, Sierra supports their API. This is an American company, has offices in lots of major cities, including London and Dublin.

2 major downsides:

1, does not support Teton
2, margin requirement is higher than most US futures brokers.

Yes, we actually did forget about using Interactive Brokers. But for proper data you do need to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed provided by Sierra Chart.

You really are best off just simply using a US broker. All of them will take UK accounts, no problem.

If you want to trade CME/CBOT and want to use Sierra's recent work (Teton order routing) then your only option is a US broker.

For USD transfers forget about your normal High Street bank, open a new bank account with a bank like Wise or Revolut. Should be no problems wiring USD to the US (and back). They'll also change up your GBP to USD at top rates. Try that with Barclays or Natwest...

IB are fine, probably the safest of all the global brokers but as others have said they don't offer Teton and probably never will.

US brokers will generally not accept electronic money service transfers from e.g. Wise. Wires to brokerages from the UK are cheap. I pay £4 all in with Barclays and it's cleared into my brokerage account same day.

ok. Thanks Binaryduke. Im using Starling and it take few days, what's a pain. My main bank is HSBC not sure if they support that quick transfer. Im going to find out. Im using dorman from stage5, what is your broker in US and what are their commision rate?

I mainly use Ironbeam. Rates are similar to AMP. All the retail-focussed brokerages have similar r/t commission rates and broker commission is the smallest expense vs CME and NFA fees. If a strategy is dependent upon r/t fees, it's not a great strategy....

I use HSBC/First Direct to transfer $ from UK to Stage 5. A transfer made by mid day will be credited that evening. Cost is £5 / transaction.

Wise and Revolut aren't money transfer companies, they're full on banks hence setting up a Swift payment is offered. Having said that I've never tried to wire money to a US broker.

Yes, banks like HSBC (with the right account) can easily change up FX (at good rates) and wire money around the world. But other UK banks on the High Street love to rip their clients off on the FX. The FX price is the main issue not the wiring.

As for Tickmill, why use an offshore broker (I think they're a Cypriot company) when you can use a US broker? UK based brokers might be fine but only if you're doing a lot of business. Stage5 and the other one (I forget) are all setup for small accounts (<$50k).

Re: Wise & Revolut:

Wise, etc., are not banks. They are electronic money institutions. US brokerages generally will not accept payments attempted in this way. Patriot Act, etc.

Wise is not a bank:
