Greetings, I need a little help to be sure to understand the topic correctly. Lets say CrudeOil last Trade is an offer lifting ASK trade@110.1 (previous trade was ASK @110.0). The BID moved up as well from 109.9 to 110.0. The next couple of trades are on the BID @ 110.0 These trades are Bid Volume ofc, but what about Up/Down tick vol? In which category do they belong? Best, |

Here's the quote on Uptick volume from the docs -- Downtick would obviously be the reverse: UpTick Volume Uptick volume is the volume of trades that occurred at a higher price than before. Trades that occurred at the same price and where the prior trade was at a higher price, are also considered upticks. |

I am still not sure, hence the question. The quote ticked up but the price is lower.

The quote is not relevant. If the trade price is lower than the previous trade price, as your exmaple (previous trade = 110.1, last trade = 110.0), then it is a down tick. Downtick volume is the volume of trades that occurred at a lower price than before. Trades that occurred at the same price and where the prior trade was at a lower price, are also considered downticks. Uptick volume is the volume of trades that occurred at a higher price than before. Trades that occurred at the same price and where the prior trade was at a higher price, are also considered upticks. |
