If the trade price is lower than the previous trade price, as your exmaple (previous trade = 110.1, last trade = 110.0), then it is a down tick.


Downtick volume is the volume of trades that occurred at a lower price than before. Trades that occurred at the same price and where the prior trade was at a lower price, are also considered downticks.

Uptick volume is the volume of trades that occurred at a higher price than before. Trades that occurred at the same price and where the prior trade was at a higher price, are also considered upticks.
