Hello,

Strange, in the last week or so, I've noticed that my SC will freeze/data will disconnect ONLY during non regular market hours. So before 9:30am ET and after 4pm ET. Any idea why that may be? I have charts open for market internals that only retrieve data during that time and a few charts that are RTH only. But otherwise, I'm at a loss...

If the system is disconnecting from your data, then you would need to look into why that is occurring at that time. Is it something about your data provider, or is there something occurring with your Internet Service Provider.

Your Message Log may give you some clues, depending on how the disconnects are occurring. Refer to the following:

I believe the disconnection is related to Sierra chart freezing/running super slow. Like, I right click and it takes 2-3 seconds for the menu to come up. Again, doesn’t happen during market hours. Can you think of a reason Sierra chart would run slower during extended trading hours than during regular.

One thing we see is you are using CTS, and we really strongly advise not to use CTS market data and change to the Denali Exchange Data Feed. You can still use CTS for orders although we will be discontinuing support for CTS in the next 2 to 3 months. The way CTS data works and is processed is very inefficient by comparison to Sierra Chart provided data feeds.

This might be part of the problem. There may be an excessive amount of data being received from CTS.

Ok thank you. To clarify, in 2-3 months, do you mean you won’t allow CTS data connections into Sierra anymore or you just won’t offer support for CTS? In other words, Will I be unable to use CTS data?

Newer versions of Sierra Chart released will not support CTS. And we expect that would be probably around April 2022.

We really want to make it clear to users, we are intimately familiar with how everything works, and we do not want to support CTS, in particular market data, and the integration is no longer maintained. If you are trading the CME Group of markets, we really recommend the best service which is going to be Teton:

EUREX to be added, soon. FairX available next week.
