Hi! What values do I need to set if I want a Trade's Entry Order type to be Stop Limit? I tried setting the StopLimitOrderLimitOffset and Price2 values of the s_SCNewOrder after setting the Price1 value, but the Trade Service Log says this: Trade Order Error - Buy Stop must be at or above last trade price: 35664
What is the "Buy Stop" variable which the Log warns about?

Hi. Fellow User here. You seem confused about how a Stop-Limit order works. I’m short, for a long think of it as a limit order that only becomes active once a certain higher price is hit. You might use it to trade a breakout strategy where you want to try to enter the market if the price spikes up but you want to be guaranteed you don’t buy for too high a price when the spike happens. You should google Stop Limit Order to find articles like this to learn more: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/stop-limitorder.asp The error message makes sense if you understand how there orders work. The stop price which dictates when the limit order becomes live needs to be higher than the current market price. |
