Hi. Fellow User here. You seem confused about how a Stop-Limit order works. I’m short, for a long think of it as a limit order that only becomes active once a certain higher price is hit. You might use it to trade a breakout strategy where you want to try to enter the market if the price spikes up but you want to be guaranteed you don’t buy for too high a price when the spike happens. The stop price which dictates when the limit order becomes live needs to be higher than the current market price. |
