Hello,

is there way to check (from log files etc) the reason why my live Sierra/T4 connection was dropped several times today? This is not common, in fact I can't remember any disconnections for the last 2 months. I will send the log file for review directly from my SC. Let me know what you find. Thank You.

Yes, done. I did send it right after I posted my message. I'm wondering if you can see where the problem was today.. T4 server? CME? My internet provider TimeWarner Cable? My data connection has been very stable and reliable until today. Thanks!

By looking at the log file I noticed that connection was lost every hour at the same time, about at 8:37, 9:37, 10:37, 11:37 and 12:37. Every time connection was restored in about 30-40 sec.

Another note: I heard CME had technical problems with some Globex markets today. However, Crude Oil / Nymex that I trade was not among those. I also called my broker to verify if there were issues today with CL data but they didn't have any.

These are the relevant messages. They are in bold. The second one does indicate a problem with name resolution on your side. The source of the first problem could be anything.

So... Communication socket closed and connection aborted by the host machine... what this 'host machine' might be? T4 server? Time Warner DNS server? My cable modem? My PC?

You commented the second bolded line as 'problem with name resolution on your side'. What do you mean by my side? My PC?

Please elaborate a bit more as I'd like to understand this. What might be most obvious reasons for this sudden, hourly repeated disconnection ONLY today? I have not made any changes to my setup or installed software to my PC.

Thanks.

The problem could be anywhere and it is not possible for us to know where the source of the problem is. We tend to suspect that is with the T4 server because we have seen these kinds of problems in the past from that server.

The host name resolution issue is something on your side , meaning on your computer system. Possibly with the ISP.

All that we can identify, is there are connectivity and name resolution problems that you are experiencing. Beyond this,it is outside the scope of our support. And we cannot say more because we have nothing further to offer.
