Hello,

I am connecting to Sierra Chart through the DTC protocol. I would like to have this running 24/7 on a separate computer which is running Sierra Chart in Sim mode for now, with idea of moving to live in the future.

What would be the best way to achieve this considering cost etc? I would like to be able to sim on both computers simultaneously, will this work? Would I need to pay for another Sierra Chart instance?

Thanks

Sorry, but we are not fully understanding your current setup and what you are wanting to change to. What is connected using DTC now and how do you want to change this?

Hello,

I have two computers. Currently one is doing nothing sierra chart related, and one I trade manually. The one I trade manually with I turn off regularly while I sleep etc.

I would like to connect to sierra chart through DTC with 24/7 availability, be able to read market depth data and place order live and sim.

I would also like to be able to do all this without using DTC on the Sierra Chart application (manually). So manually sim trade and live trade, and ideally this is independent of what the "bot" is doing.

I hope this makes sense and is possible!

Thank you for your time

What you want to do is mostly possible.

One issue is Market Data, as the exchanges will not allow for real-time market data to be accessible through DTC.

Another possible issue, is that if you are using DTC to place trades to the same trading account, then you could end up with a mixture of orders. In order words, if you are wanting them to be independent from one another, then you would need to check with your broker about how to do this in terms of accounts, and you would need to ensure that your trading is performed to each account appropriately.

Hello,

Got it thanks, I may have to create multiple broker accounts and run sierra chart on the dedicated computer connecting with my second account. This will just be a 10$ sierra chart fee for duplicate instance running?

Thanks

You will not need to pay for extra Sierra Chart software. You are allowed to have Sierra Chart software running on two different computers at the same time. If you wanted to have it running on a third, then the extra $10.00 fee would apply. Just keep in mind, this is just for the Sierra Chart software, the data feeds are different.
