Hi, I have saved a study and indeed it is there, but when I attempt to open it, it opens into a small blue square with it's name on it, but no amount of double clicking or attempting to open it, will get it to open. Tried the file/open and same result: small blue square that can't be opened. I did search the Support Board and did attempt to look up the Global Settings, but only found opening charts on start up. The name looks good (.Cht) and the location C: Sierra Chart/Data. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You, Regis

Are you referring to opening a Chartbook? Try selecting Window >> Cascade. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. The "Window>>Cascade" is an unavailable option. See attached pic. The blue box in the upper tool bar on the left, is what appears and no combination of double clicks, right hand click does anything to open that file.

If the CW menu is empty, then this is an empty Chartbook. There is nothing in it. If there should be charts in that Chartbook, use a backup Chartbook to access a previous state of it : Chartbooks (Workspaces): Accessing a Backup Chartbook File Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Still having the same problem with the unopenable Blue Square at the top. Tried everything to open up any file and cannot access it. Double click it and every file option leaves it unopened. Highly experienced Excel and Access d/base user.

We see that you have opened a Chartbook named "Mar 22 Corn 1 Min". Please go to the CW pulldown menu and see if there are any charts listed in there. If nothing is listed, then there are no charts associated with this chartbook. If there are charts listed then select the one you want and it should open from there. If it does not, then let us know. To open a new chart, select File >> Find Symbol and find the symbol for which you want a chart and then select either the Open Historical Chart or Open Intraday Chart button to open the type of chart you want. Refer to the following: File Menu: Find Symbol (File) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Nothing under CW. It says "No Child Windows Open". I copied the .CHT file to every possible folder, including the regular C: Drive and no dice. It appears as a blue square, but is unopenable. Does it have to be the 'Child' of a Chartbook "1", "2" to even open?

You are not understanding what we are telling you. That Chartbook does not have anything in it. We do not know what happened or why there is nothing in that Chartbook, but there simply is not. Even the size of the file tells us that there is nothing in there (1 Kb). You are not doing anything wrong, or opening it improperly. There just isn't anything in that file. You are correct, but can't figure out, why it saved the file as only 1Kb. Suddenly, the file size went from 1kb picking from the Menu to 3.5kb and now it opens. And the blue square works. Have version 2323. Thanks for your help.
