How to backtest with clean environment

We created a trade study based on alert that showed a few trades during the backtest. We exported the chart that included the study. When a colleague of ours imported the same chart, and ran the backtest using the same dates and identical settings, the results showed different trades. Our colleague suggested running the backtest in a clean environment (i.e., a single isolated chart without any other studies). How do we ensure there are no other conflicting studies loaded that might be causing the varying results? Thanks! |

First of all, there is a high probability that the settings were not exactly the same between the two runs. There are a lot of settings that would need to be checked, for example, the Chart Update Interval, which if set to the Global value could differ between the two runs. To answer your direct question, though, it is just a matter of removing all other studies that you do not need from the chart. There is nothing special to doing this.
