Is the London TT access point no longer available for use? I noticed today I was getting terrible latency and you docs say it is now the same as server 1.

I noticed today I was getting terrible latency Specifically with what? Orders or market data? The London market data server is still available and based upon your location will be a server that Sierra Chart connects to. It is automatically used. But not exclusively. For orders for the Sierra Chart Order Routing Service, the London server was removed and you are best off when trading CME markets to be using one of the Chicago servers anyway. Those are the safest due to the direct cross connect to TT. This change in no way is going to affect latency. That does not make sense. I'm referring to orders, market data is good no complaints there. These are my best measures of my connection quality to the various servers. If I connect direct with Server 1 or 2 then there is commonly a second or two pause from adding or modifying an order to when I see the update confirming. For my uses that is not good. My guess is the packet loss is causing the biggest issue. The Frankfurt connection is fine but if that is removed as well my order routing connection quality will be significantly worse off. Will you be maintaining a Europe access point going forward? I hope so! Me to old Server 4 (London TT): 25ms London TT to New York TT: 63ms Total RTT: ~90ms Packet loss: 0% Me to Server 3 (Frankfurt TT): 38ms Frankfurt TT to NY TT: 72ms Total RTT: ~110ms Packet loss: 0% Me to Server 2: 130ms Total RTT: ~130ms Packet loss: 80% Me to Server 1: 120ms Total RTT: ~120ms Packet loss: 74% |

You cannot measure latency, accurately from your side. Your order routing latency could not be worse at all for CME order routing. It would have to be the opposite, actually better. Try decreasing the Chart Update Interval for the chart or trading DOM you are entering orders from: Chart Settings: Chart Update Interval in Milliseconds (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Display >> Chart Update Interval menu) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I'm not claiming to measure the latency accurately but there is a perceivable and obvious lag when placing or modifying orders using servers 1 or 2 from the UK. I suspect this lag is a function of packet loss and not packet RTT. As I noted above I'm seeing 80% packet loss when using the public internet to get across the Atlantic. So in my view removing the London server for order routing does degrade my service. I can use Frankfurt and I'm fine with that but I worry that will be removed also at some point. Do you have plans to remove the Frankfurt server for order routing? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2021-06-04 18:06:53
