Hello. Is it possible to have a 3 minute candle stick chart that shows the points of control for 12 range numbers bars, all on one time-based chart? I don't need to see any of the number bars data, only a line indicating where/when the 12 range POC's develop. Thanks!

Yes, this can be done. You will need to use the Volume by Price study on the 12 range bars and set the Draw Mode to POC, VAH, VAL, VWAP lines only and then turn off all the lines except the POC. You probably will want to set the POC to Dash draw style as well. Then set the VbP to be Multiple Profiles for every bar. Refer to the information here for the Volume by Price study: Volume By Price Study Then use the Study/Price Overlay to overlay the VbP to the 3 minute chart. You will just need to work with the options for Data Copy Mode and Bar Time Matching Method to line up the data as you want. Keep in mind it is going to do it based on time. Thank you. This does not exist: "set the VbP to be Multiple Profiles for every bar." I only have the option to do it based on bar count or fixed time.

Sorry, what we were trying to tell you to do was to set the Volume Graph Period Type to Multiple Profiles Based on Bar Count and then set the Number of Bars for 'Based on Bar Count' to 1.

Thanks for the clarification. The only issue with that, is that it creates a line connecting the individual bars POC's (It looks like a MA), rather than extending them each out (until intersected) individually.

Change the Draw Style for the Subgraph named Point of Control (SG2) to Dash (this was mentioned above as well). Yes, and I had already done that. It just makes the line that connects the POC's dashed. Still not correct.

Sorry, you did state that initially, and I just missed it. Ok, then what you want to do is to use the Numbers Bars on the 12 Range chart and set the following: - Point of Control In: Column x with Extension Line until Future Intersection Then, on the 3 Minute chart, add the Study/Price Overlay set it to overlay the Numbers Bars study. It will not actually overlay the numbers bars, but ensure that the following Input is set: - Copy Extension Lines from Source Study: Yes For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

That worked great, thanks! Last question, how can I get the point of control to extend beyond just one single bar? Can it extend out a few bars extra? Thanks again

If you are using the Numbers Bars, then the lines are extending until they meet a future intersection and then stopping. So we are not sure exactly what it is that you want to see. If they are only going one bar, then that is because that is where the intersection occurs.

I’m talking about POC’s that have not been intersected yet. They only extend out about a centimeter from the front bar. So I’d like to see it project out into the future, so to speak

There is not a way to do that without creating a custom study.
