hi, everytime i re-open sierra, i lose all the thousands of little changes that I had made from the last time. i try not to close it ever, but my computer resets and then I loose all the changes. i constantly save my work, yet this still doesn't help and when it restarts, I have to make all those changes again. i thought pressing save would help but it doesn't. any suggestions? also, when I reopen by sierra charts and I place an order on my dom, I cannot see my position on the dom like I could before, so I have to go to another chartbook and duplicate it into my current one to make it work. I'm talking about the red line that shows up if I press sell, that disappears so I cannot see open positions or standing orders. thanks |

The first thing we want you to do is to update to the latest release. There was a change to the filename in which the settings are stored and we want to make sure you are using the newer file (in the latest versions it is called Sierra4.config). Although it really sounds like you have a permissions issue with the file. So after the update, open your File Explorer and go to the main Sierra Chart folder (typically this is C:\SierraChart) and then check the permissions for the Sierra4.config file by right clicking and selecting Properties, then selecting the Security tab. Make sure Authenticated Users have Write permissions, or that your user name has Write permissions.
