Hi, it's probably user error, been struggling with setting up two copies, one trading my amp account, transitioning over to Sierra Data from CQG, and the other a Simulated account. I get a message my sim account was not activated because I've not paid for it. Account name Simulated. I thought I could set up two accounts for free. Please advise (I'm afraid I'm becoming a "lead", as in metal, customer :-) I've also downloaded two copies of SC software to two different folders on my C drive, but somehow the data is screwed up, and keeps making a data copy to my documents or desktop. I'm going to start over and re download both copies more carefully, somehow I guess they got corrupted using same data folder? Thank you, Chris |

First, you do not need to have 2 different Sierra Chart accounts to do what you want. You are getting the error in the second account you created because you already have an active account, therefore you cannot have another trial. But just ignore that other account, you do not need it. If you want to have 2 copies of Sierra Chart in order to use one with AMP and the other just for Simulation Mode, then that is fine. Just install them both separately. They CAN NOT share a data directory, however. Sierra Chart is setup to be portable and self-contained, so the architecture does not allow for a shared data directory structure. Just create the two different installations according to these instructions: Using Multiple Data and Trading Services at the Same Time: Step-By-Step Instructions to Install Multiple Copies of Sierra Chart Once the above is done, just setup your one installation to connect to your AMP account (most likely CQG, in which case you would follow the Setup Instructions here: CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions). The follow these steps to ensure that you are getting the Denali Exchange Data Feed properly: Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Integration with Trading Services And then leave the second installation set as it is by default. Just be aware that you will have different symbols between the two since they are connected to different services.
