Retaining SC program when changing data feed

I have heard that some users are losing the SC platform after downloading a new data provider. Are there any steps that should be taken in order to avoid this? Additionally, are there steps that can be taken to save what you have and then reload that in the event that a SC is necessary?

Unless you were to deliberately delete the installation of Sierra Chart.Sierra Chart is very good and stable software and what you are describing just does not happen.
