Hi Sierra Chart,

I have moved a lot of my trading into stock options. I am wondering if you know of any problems with using TD Ameritrade data with Sierra Chart when looking at stocks (just weekly, daily, and hourly charts)? Do you think you could give me a few days or a week of a free trial to see if purchasing SC would be beneficial as opposed to just using thinkorswim? I do miss the platform.

Thanks

TD Ameritrade stock data generally works fine. Potentially there could be some occasional issues, based on user feedback.

Your account has been given a new trial.

Im getting an error where i cannot download any more than 200 symbols in a day. Is this coming from you or TD Ameritrade? Do I have to wait until tomorrow to finish?

also when you see this could you explain to me what that limit means? i have a list of about 375 stocks that i go through a few times a day, will i be able to continue to do this if i switch to SC using TDA data?

During a trial, there is a limit of 200 historical data requests per day that are directed to the Sierra Chart Historical Data service. In the case of TD Ameritrade this only applies to Historical Daily data. Not historical Intraday data.

For a paid account, this limit is higher. It is 700 a day for package 3.

and package 1?

does a request include a repeat click so if i click AAPL then GOOG then AAPL again, would AAPL count as 1 or 2? also does it start over every day?

thanks

Actually, if you are on package 1 that does not include the Sierra Chart Historical Data service . In which case all historical data requests go to TD Ameritrade and there are no limits.

In this scenario you gave, there would only be one data request. Historical Daily charts require updating at least once a day so there would be at least one request a day per open Historical Daily chart.

Your Sierra Chart account is now on package 1. Restart Sierra Chart.

Previously it was on package 5 with limitations.
