Dear SC, Following instruction from: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/GoogleDataService.php I cannot get this to work at all, even with a well known stock like Microsoft or Apple. What i did: 1. Data connection s set to Google Finance 2. File --> Find Symbol, type in the Selected Symbol text box MSFT-NASDAQ (or AAPL-NASDAQ), click Open Historical Chart and I don't get anything just a blank chart. Am I doing something wrong? Please see Message log bellow. Any help would be appreciated, because this would be just amazing if it worked. Requested symbol settings for service code googlefinancial.datafeed. The documentation says: This service is provided as is without any support.
We will remove the page. We should just remove the service if it is not able to access the data anymore. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. @SC: I read about the „This service is provided as is without any support. “ Let me explain why I wanted to use this service: I am using both services (google/yahoo) for portfolio management (no intraday trading, swing trading for 1-6 months). You would not believe it, but i actually download the data into Excel Files (I have templates for that) and then analyze the charts in Excel. SierraChart is IMO the best and fastest Charting Software on the Planet, but for Stocks, especially some very exotic Stocks there is no Datafeed available, not even via IB, and here comes the google finance (or yahoo finance) in handy. Yes i could use tradingview.com, but it lacks functionality that SC has. So the alternative is Excel or Python with Pandas... Maybe you could change your decision, But i would understand if that is not your strategy, because you cannot control it... Thnx Date Time Of Last Edit: 2021-02-22 04:40:54

@SC: I found another use of the Google Datafeed, that maybe will change your mind, also in fully supporting it in the future. Regarding the shutdown of “Replacement for CBOE Indices Historical Daily Data”, as posted here: Notice: Replacement for CBOE Indices Historical Daily Data There are tons of Indices on Google for free with delayed Data, also those for CBOE or ICE. Examples: INDEXCBOE: VIX INDEXCBOE: VIX9D INDEXNYSEGIS: MOVE As most of the users need this Indices only for analysis (mainly as a support for trading on related instrument and not for trading per se), these would be a perfect alternative option and far better than indices with equivalent calculation. Let me explain why I wanted to use this service: Ok but are you able to access the data from Google using the current state of the Google Data Service in Sierra Chart? If Google has changed the interface, then we are not willing to allocate time to look into this.
