I tried to change "Data Range in File" From: to a later date. I understand if the data is not available and I set to an earlier date, then it reverts back. But, I am trying to set to a later date and the From: still reverts back to the earlier date. Please advise.

The Date Range in File just gives you the information of what data is in that symbol's data file. It does not directly control the date range of data that is shown in the chart (unless you are trying to get data prior to the From: date).

We assume that you are trying to reduce the number of days displayed in your chart. To do this, you need to use either the Number of Days to Load or Use Date Range. Refer to the information starting here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ChartSettings.html#DateRangeInFile

If you are trying to change the actual amount of data stored in the file, then we would first want to ask why, as there really is not a need for this, and if you are short on disk space then there are other things to do first. In general, for this topic, refer to the following:

I am trying to figure out when I "Open a Trading Dom for Chart" that the "Orders Fills Start Date-Time"
in the "Trade Activity Log" shows the date outside the "Date Range to Display". Please refer to the attached file. It shows Chart "Trading #14" outside the range. There sre no open trades currently.

The Date Range To Display is not used with the Trade Statistics for Charts tab. That is why it is greyed out. Refer to the information here:

I have the same issue. I don't want the system to download too much data. I want to set the From date to a later date, but it reverts back. I recall that initially it was at a more current date, then I changed to an earlier date. Now, I cannot change it back to a later date. Thanks for your help!

@User114171:

If you are referring to the "Date Range in File", then that can only be expanded, it can not be contracted. Once you have downloaded the data for a certain period, then that is going to stay unless you delete the data. Refer to the following for how to delete a file:

I trade U.S. stocks, and there're hundreds. It quickly eats up my disk space. But I understand the design, which cannot revert to an earlier date for now. Hope there will be flexibility in the future. Thanks

Refer to the following capability which will change the storage time unit for the data that is older than a certain amount:
