Recently upgraded from ~1076 to 1093. I had a time/sales storage record (F5) set to 5000 and the time/sales window/buffer would hold more then 1 day if I didn't clear it (very convenient). Now w/ 1093 and a setting of 5000 records I might get 1.5 hrs. I tried increasing the buffer to 20,000 and it really isn't much different. This change really takes away convenience/functionality.

It is true that we programmed in a limit for the maximum number of records displayed in the Time and Sales window itself because one thing we came to realize is that unless someone clears the Time and Sales window, or closes that window, there is an uncontrolled amount of memory allocation which will occur.

We can always increase the limit. We will do that. But we cannot allow it to get too big because eventually this will cause the program to abnormally shutdown.

Thinking about this some more, if you want to look at historical ticks, you just use the chart itself and set the chart bars to 1 Number of Trades per bar. Make sure the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit is set to 1 tick.

You're solution is an option, but the time/sales window is the only option for reviewing the aggressiveness of the trades (trades above the offer or below the bid). Is there another option for that that I may be overlooking?

Would you be able to allow it to hold the entire current day instead of a fixed # of records (then dump the cache at midnite)?

Has this been addressed since 1093...just wondering if I should upgrade this evening? ty

No we cannot allow it to hold an entire day. We have to design Sierra Chart to be a stable and reliable program. The limit has been increased some, but not a lot. We apologize for this.
