Hi SC support,
Please help.

SC - Installer - Failed > Error saving files to local system.

Because of this error, I can Not install SC on my new Laptop system.

First of all, the directory you have chosen to install Sierra Chart to is a strange location. You have selected "C:\Users\rizva\Downloads\Sierra Chart". You should not be installing Sierra Chart under the Downloads folder.

Our recommendation is to install Sierra Chart to the top of the C: drive, so the folder would be "C:\SierraChart".

Still, you should not have had a problem installing to that folder unless you did not have permissions. In general refer to the following:

Ok, so how do I remove Sierra Chart, uninstall and reinstall to the correct directory? I can NOT see SC in the list of Apps when I go to Settings/App - to uninstall... it's Not even listed? What? Could this have something to do with the fact that I installed in wrong directory? So now it's not even showing up in my Apps list?

We do not create an entry in your Start menu, so that is not a problem. In general, we stay away from dealing as much of the Windows stuff as we can, that is one of the reasons we are able to keep our software running with as few issues as possible.

First, if you want to remove any information that was installed to the previous folder, just go to that folder and remove the entire Sierra Chart folder. That is all you need to do. But since the install failed, there probably isn't anything there to remove.

Since it never installed to the correct folder, just run the installation again and change the Installation Path on the installer to the folder you want to install to.

okay... thanks... actually, I had actually gotten the install to work, because I had permission problems due to the wrong directory path.... so I had to run-as-administrator.... so actually, i did have SC installed, but just in the wrong directly.

I also figured out that all I have to do is remove the entire SC folder, just as you said. and then I re-installed again, and this time I corrected the path according to your instructions....
Problem solved. Case closed.
