Switching trade & Current Quote Symbol via Keyboard

Hi, I trade both ES and sometimes switch to MES (when volatility is high). At the moment if i want to switch to MES I need to go to chart settings and change "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" to MES and also check "Use As Trade Only Symbol". Is it possible to do this with a Keyboard shortcut or toolbar button? Thanks S |

Is this still not possible? It would be a great feature to have, if not keyboard shortcut then maybe a button in a control bar can also be very helpful.

If we are following your particular flow - you want to always use the ES chart for your charting, but then allow for either the ES or the MES to be traded from that chart. As you note, the way to do this is to change the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol". Given this, there are no changes that make this any easier to do than what it is now. You could create a Custom Study to switch this information for you based on the status of a Control Bar button. Yes, you are on point. I always want to chart ES, but sometimes trade MES on the same chart so instead of going to chart settings and clearing the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol", I was thinking of adding a custom button to a control bar and toggle it from there. You guys have so many great shortcuts so I thought it might as well be there which I couldn't find, but I will look into the Advance custom study link you've posted. Thanks!

Driss, I am also wanting to do this. Specifically, if volatility increases (say, for CPI/NFP releases, etc.), I'd like to be able to quickly toggle the DOM between using no current/trade symbol, and using MES. SC Support, if you see this, can you answer: why does the chart linking using "Trade/Quote Symbol" not work? I created a quote board, linked it to a DOM, and set up linking to only use "Trade/Quote Symbol." However, when switching it, the primary symbol is changed, not the trade/current quote symbol. This seems like a bug. |

If you want the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" to be cleared out when you change the symbol, then set the option for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading >> Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol on Symbol Change" to "Yes". Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol on Symbol Change (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu) If you want the Trade and Current Quote symbol to change to a specific symbol every time you select a primary symbol, then you need to enter the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" in the symbol settings for the primary symbol. My goal was to toggle a buttom (or a keyboard shortcut) such that: * one mode has ES with a trade/quote symbol of MES (so that I see depth/volume for ES, but place orders on MES) * one mode has ES with no trade/quote symbol (so that I see depth/volume for ES and place orders on ES) I can see that it is not possible to toggle the two, and the best I can do is to have a toolbar with an associated watch list to easily toggle between the two symbols, with no trade/quote symbol for either.
