If we are following your particular flow - you want to always use the ES chart for your charting, but then allow for either the ES or the MES to be traded from that chart. As you note, the way to do this is to change the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol". Given this, there are no changes that make this any easier to do than what it is now. You could create a Custom Study to switch this information for you based on the status of a Control Bar button.
