Hi,

I have been having issues where Sierra Chart is freezing when I use ES. It freezes for good 5 to 10 seconds when the opening bell and the closing bell. Then during the middle of the day. it also freezes occasionally. I start Sierra Chart with the CL chartbook, then I launch a new instance that has the ES chartbook. I'll then open a third instance that would be my GC chartbook.

It works fine most of the time but during opening and closing bell, it freezes for good 5 to 10 seconds.

What I have tried to resolve the problem, I have reloaded a new chartbook it worked fine for few days the the same issue returns.

I have also try to move Sierra Chart to another drive, but same problem.

I am pretty sure it is something with the ES chart, if I don't have the ES chart open. Sierra Chart does not freeze up.

Let me know what else I can try to resolve the issue.

I have attached two time frames from the Message log that I noticed the freeze. It actually freeze my system for about 2 seconds.

one at 4:30 and the 2nd one at 8:00

Thanks
Jerome

That Windows error code 1816 is extremely unusual. The first thing to look at is the chart update interval:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.5 - Chart Update Interval

What studies are you using on the charts?

And then refer to this section:
