I only have a single chart open, yet I receive a message saying "Over symbol limit". This happens when switching symbols in the chart. The message goes away after maybe 20 seconds. Why does this happen? Note: I am using the Sierra Chart Datafeed

So, when I open Sierra Chart I see on the top left "ST:0", meaning that there are zero symbols being tracked. Then, I proceed to open a watchlist with 100 symbols and cycle through the chart for each symbol one-by-one. Each time I update the symbol in the chart, the "ST" increments by one, so ST:1, ST:2, ST:3, etc. The "ST" symbol tracker never decreases. Once I exceed "ST:20", I start getting the "Over Symbol Limit" message and the "ST" counter only keeps increasing even after I have exceeded my 20 symbol limit. Is this the intended behavior? It seems to me like Sierra Chart should start unsubscribing from the old symbols in order to avoid exceeding the symbol limit. Simply disconnecting and reconnecting to the data feed will reset the "ST" number back to zero. However, having to do this after every 20 charts seems pretty cumbersome from a user-experience/UX perspective. |

Yes this is the intended behavior. The plan is for us to get that symbol limit removed.

I see. So is disconnecting/reconnecting the data feed really the only solution? It feels a bit like having to disconnect and reconnect to your wifi each time after visiting 20 websites.

Yes that is the only solution for now. Otherwise, for now increase the symbol limit to 100. This can be done here: https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ExchangeDataFeedFeatures It is only 10 USD a month more.
