We just want to put out a quick comment that a user was asking us about this past week. They wanted to know how they can have a secondary means viewing their Positions and Orders and ensuring that what they see in Sierra Chart is correct. This was not exactly how they expressed it. But in effect this is what they were asking about.

They were mentioning CQG and how there is the CQG Web trader:
http://ampclearing.com/webtrader.html

And they view this as a secondary means to get visibility into their account. Our understanding is that this uses the very same CQG Web API that Sierra Chart uses. So it is no better than what you see in Sierra Chart.

If there is any question about what you see in Sierra Chart when using CQG just reconnect to the data feed as an easy means to guarantee a refresh of orders and positions:
File Menu: Procedure to Reconnect to the Data and Trade Servers

Now our web-based trading panel is connected to the Sierra Chart order service which use a FIX connection to TT. There are a total of six servers available that you can use and each has its own independent connection to TT. Those FIX connections process all the orders on your account. And today we set Server 4, the backup server, to refresh the orders table and positions table at the end of the day (17:20). This is not needed but is just another layer of ensuring that the state that it has, exactly matches TT at the end of the day.

The reason we do not do this with other servers is because if at the time we are requesting orders and positions and they are not available from TT, then we have the risk of them getting cleared. Whether they get cleared or not, depends upon the details surrounding why they were not returned.

Although all of the other servers refresh their Orders and Positions state from TT on Sunday.

So using our web-based trading panel, you can check any of the servers, and get a clear view of your orders and positions as provided by TT.

Is the web-based trading restricted to more or less manual trading or can you run automated strategies as well?

No you can only do manual trading. For automated trading using a websocket connection and JSON messages you need to use the DTC protocol server. Refer to:
Data and Trading Communications (DTC) Protocol Server

We are going to add later today a new websocket section to that page with additional details.

Flatten functionality for the web-based trading panel for Positions will be released later this evening. But only Server 4 can support this. The other servers will be updated over the next couple of days.

The price in the order fills (example ES) seems to be not exactly calculated somehow.

See attached file of one order with only 1 lot (so no calculation needed).

I sold at 3298.50

Yes we know about this. We have to request the security definition data and apply the right price format and multiplier.

^Does this issue above affect validity/acceptance at exchange of live working orders entered through this page? They show the same pricing inaccuracy.

Ho do I get access to web-based trading?

using https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=TradeAccountDataAndOrderEntry

I am told
The feature is not enabled on the ---- Sierra Chart account.

I cant find any mention of web based trading on my account control panel.

I need a backup means of closing trades in place before live trading using Denali.

You cannot use that web-based trading panel with CQG. CQG has their own. Contact your broker for access to that.

We have reread what you wrote. We have activated this for your account being that it seems like you plan to be using the Sierra Chart order routing service.

This is because you have no trading accounts assigned to your Sierra Chart account which use that web-based trading panel.

This thread is now locked.
