We just want to put out a quick comment that a user was asking us about this past week. They wanted to know how they can have a secondary means viewing their Positions and Orders and ensuring that what they see in Sierra Chart is correct. This was not exactly how they expressed it. But in effect this is what they were asking about.

They were mentioning CQG and how there is the CQG Web trader:
http://ampclearing.com/webtrader.html

And they view this as a secondary means to get visibility into their account. Our understanding is that this uses the very same CQG Web API that Sierra Chart uses. So it is no better than what you see in Sierra Chart.

If there is any question about what you see in Sierra Chart when using CQG just reconnect to the data feed as an easy means to guarantee a refresh of orders and positions:
File Menu: Procedure to Reconnect to the Data and Trade Servers

Now our web-based trading panel is connected to the Sierra Chart order service which use a FIX connection to TT. There are a total of six servers available that you can use and each has its own independent connection to TT. Those FIX connections process all the orders on your account. And today we set Server 4, the backup server, to refresh the orders table and positions table at the end of the day (17:20). This is not needed but is just another layer of ensuring that the state that it has, exactly matches TT at the end of the day.

The reason we do not do this with other servers is because if at the time we are requesting orders and positions and they are not available from TT, then we have the risk of them getting cleared. Whether they get cleared or not, depends upon the details surrounding why they were not returned.

Although all of the other servers refresh their Orders and Positions state from TT on Sunday.

So using our web-based trading panel, you can check any of the servers, and get a clear view of your orders and positions as provided by TT.
