I've been plagued by this for a few weeks now. I have 12 charts up in sierra charts. About 3 of them will randomly stop updating. I have to do "edit/download data intraday chart" then click "delete and download data from the current position" to get the chart going again. This will update the chart to the current price and sometimes the price will update from then on. But other times, it will update the chart to the current price and hang again. I've tried intraday data and historical with same issue. No problems with futures charts, just stocks. IB charting shows the correct pricing and is updating for the affected stocks so the data is coming through. I have used SC for years and never had this issue until a few months ago. One stock, INTC, I had to change the symbol from intc to intc-stk for it to work at all. I use IB, the most current version and SC 1062. |

We have had reports like this. The problem has to do with the primary exchange. There is a new symbol format that you need to use for certain stocks which specifies 2 exchanges including the primary exchange. Here it is: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/IBSymbols.html#Stock Refer to the section: Stocks With Specified Exchange and Primary Exchange Format The problem is, we do not know when exactly this format will be supported by Interactive Brokers. It is very new and we are not sure it is supported on their system yet. They did communicate to us recently on the subject, so we know that support will be coming soon. It could be we are wrong about the problem. But in any case, it is going to be some issue on the TWS side. You may want to contact Interactive Brokers support about it. The only other information we have is in help topic 3: Http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/helpdetails3.html Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
