Hello. I have a funded trading account with Interactive Brokers . I have an API which only works with IB and that is set up and I'm ready to trade - except I need a data feed for the 2 charts I am going to use ($DOWI which I understand is the same as the INDU and the YM - boith one minute). I'm not looking for historical data or anything free - just to get it up and running. I sent $76 to Sierra Charts on Friday 13th Sept in the hope that I could buy the data feed via Denali. Paid $26 for the charts and added $50 towards what I think is for the data feed. I look today at the 2 SC charts ($DOWI and YM) and they are motionless. Can someone help me sort this out? Have spend hours on your site trying to understand how this works. Have been trading for 12 years and am not a newbie but I find this so confusing. Have spend so long reading the various documents and switching around to different areas on your site, plus You Tube videos on how to get started that I now don't know where I am in the whole process. Would appreciate any help you can offer to get it resolved and working 100%. Thanks based in the UK |

So do you want real-time data for the Dow cash index and futures both? If so, use this data feed and follow the instructions on this page: Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed The exchanges you will need to activate will be the appropriate CBOT exchange and also Dow Indices. Hello. You ask ' So do you want real-time data for the Dow cash index and futures both?' Yes, I do. You state 'The exchanges you will need to activate will be the appropriate CBOT exchange and also Dow Indices.' I have activated and paid for the CBOT Exchange (via Sierra Charts Exchange Data Feed) for symbol $DOWI which I understand is the INDU - but am I correct in thinking the CME Exchange is for the e-mini - YM? Once paid, activated and agreements signed does it mean I can view real live charts or are there more steps to complete? Thank you very much for your help! Rosemayre |

The only remaining step is activating the exchanges. Did you want market depth data for the YM futures?

Hello. It must be a week now that I've been trying to sort out my 2 charts ($DOWI and YM) and still no success. Tried activating the Exchanges as you suggest above only to see this message: "Failed to activate the 'Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX) with Market Depth for nonprofessional Trading accounts' exchange. The Data Feed is not enabled on the account". Can someone please help me finish this application (with detailed step by step instructions) and get trading from live real time charts? Am almost giving up on it. Thanks for your help with this. R |

Everything is now set up with the data feed. You just need to connect Sierra Chart to your Interactive Brokers account as explained here: Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Integration with Trading Services (Integration with trading services) One of the steps is to follow the instructions here to connect Sierra Chart your Interactive Brokers account: Interactive Brokers Trading Service: Setup Instructions (Set up instructions) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Hello. I did as you advised. Waited for the market to open - and no live feed on the charts again. Just to confirm, I do not want to trade from the Sierra Charts. I only want to view 2 charts (INDU which you stated is $DOWI and the YM). After viewing these charts I will place a trade with Interactive Brokers via an API called Bracket Trader. Today, a box dialog appeared that stated the symbols were not recognised but this disappeared after a short while - not sure if that is helpful to you. |

Hello. Thank you very much - I now have live feed for the Dow ($DOWI M). The YM however is still on yesterday's date so I think the symbol must be incorrect - currently it is YMZ19 there isn't an 'M' after it. At least we have half the problem sorted and for that I'm very grateful. Would you advise what might be the problem with the YM chart? Thank you. Rosemayre |
