Increase the delay between historical data requests to 4000. Another thing to do is to set Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download to 30. Other than this, it would really be best to wait until we offer high-quality stock data that is integrated with Interactive Brokers. We are doing our best to get this out. But it is not likely to be ready for about another 60 days. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I have changed everything you suggested but as I was doing so I noticed under global settings--data/trade service settings-historical data service settings--historical daily data source--option to use Primary service server which I have checked or Sierra Chart historical data service. Should I be using your historical data or is this what you are suggesting that I wait for ยง0 days? Carol |

I logged into Sierra charts at 10:30 mst which would be 12:30 est but my 30 minute charts only show 2 candles. How can this be? There should be 6 candles with a 7th forming. There just has to be something to do so that I can get correct downloads. Carol |

For Historical Daily data, probably in the case of Interactive Brokers you should be using the "Primary Service Server" so there are no symbol conflicts. For the chart that has only 2 candles, go to that chart and select Edit >> Delete All Data and Download. Also, refer to help topic 7 here: Http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/helpdetails7.html Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. My time is set to 5:00 pm to download historical data. Does sierra charts have to be running on my computer to get the correct download time? I usually close them down just after the market closes. Maybe my problem is just something simple like some setting I don't have correct.

The historical Daily Data Download time is not too critical. When you start Sierra Chart and open Historical Daily charts, data will be downloaded for them. Sierra Chart does not have to be running at the download time that you set.

In study the help topic 7.1 retrying the download When I go to file connect to data feed is grayed out so I assume that means I am connected to the data feed Since all of my 30 minute charts only had 2 candles when I opened Sierra would you recommend that I use the Delete&Download Data--All Charts? Is this something I should do each morning after I open my charts? This would be about 6:30 am mst. Would this affect ALL the charts on my trading page? Even the daily charts? If this is the best solution it would be easier for me that just doing one chart at a time. I'v read the help topic #7 and find it helpful. Thanks for responding to my questions. Carol |

If File >> Connect to Data Feed is grayed out, then this means you are connected. You could use Delete and Download Data-All Charts, but you increase the chance of getting a "pacing violation" from Interactive Brokers. As long as there is enough delay between historical data requests and IB provides the data, you should not have to re-download the data each morning. Delete and Download Data-All Charts if used on an Intraday chart will not affect the historical Daily charts. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. I changed the delay to 4000 as you suggested so I'll see if that works in the morning. Thanks for your reply. |

After all you have helped me with I still had some 30 minute charts that didn't load correctly. Some did. I brought the sierra platform up and let it load and then I I deleted and downloaded again. For instance the JPM pivot on the 30 minute chart matches my other co traders, DAL HPQ and HD and some others didn't. It takes about 45 minutes for me to bring up the charts, reload them and then reload the 30 minute charts. Could there still be something that is causing this difficulty that you might think of? Am I the only one that seems to be having this problem. Thanks, Carol |

We apologize, but we can do not control the Interactive Brokers data service. You will continue to have problems and struggle with this. We cannot help at this time because we do not control that service . We are working on a better quality stock data service. You are not the only one having this problem. This board is full of Interactive Brokers data issues. And they consume too much of our time. We will do our best to get the high-quality stock data service out within the next 30 days.
