Alright. So, I figured it out.

On all of the index micro products. In the sc symbol settings they have "-USD" on the end, I was already instructed to use that.

However it those symbols do not interface properly with interactive brokers, you can still get an order fill but none of the position info shows up.

When using MES-201909-GLOBEX instead of MES-201909-GLOBEX-USD the position Data populates, but in order for everything to work properly when using it as a trade only symbol:
- I need to duplicate the symbol settings of MES-201909-GLOBEX-USD
- Rename to MES-201909-GLOBEX.

That is the only way it works when using as a trade symbol. While viewing the data of it's mini counter part (ES) in the dom for data. The same thing applies to all of the US index micros I have tried.

The symbols you are using for trading or even market data need to match what is listed in File >> Find Symbol.

I know. The thing is I have problems with trading MES-201909-GLOBEX-USD which can be found in the find symbol (no position information shows up after order fill and the dom indicates that it is Flat, even though it is open in tws).

I don't have problems with the postion data showing up anymore when I change it to MES-201909-GLOBEX which cannot be found with the find symbol.

So I have to duplicate the settings for MES-201909-GLOBEX-USD in the symbol settings, and rename to MES-201909-GLOBEX so that sierra chart can interpret symbol information (like the tick size) so orders can be modified.

This is trade symbol only use case. Nor sure about when it is the main symbol. I don't use it for data.

This is still a problem. When I use The exact symbol MES-201909-GLOBEX-USD the position disappears from the dom In any configuration whether it is the main symbol or not. Same thing happens with any other symbol tagged -USD on the end.

Using the solution I described in above posts as an alternative has problems with order modifications. The Solution is not supposed to work at all According to Sierra Chart staff.

We see no trouble with Trade Position reporting when using the symbol MES-201909-GLOBEX-USD for trading.

This is what we see in the Positions list in Sierra Chart when establishing a position for that symbol:

Symbol  Quantity  Service Position Quantity  Trade Account  Average Price  Open Profit/Loss  Daily Profit/Loss  Daily P/L Reset DateTime  High During Position  Low During Position  Last During Position  Margin Requirement  Service Average Price  Currency  Entry DateTime
MES-201909-GLOBEX  -4  -4  DU230004  2880.15600  0.00  0.00  00:00:00  0.00000  0.00000  0.00000  0.00  2880.15600    2019-08-27 02:46:47

And this displays properly on the chart as well.

So I have to duplicate the settings for MES-201909-GLOBEX-USD in the symbol settings, and rename to MES-201909-GLOBEX so that sierra chart can interpret symbol information (like the tick size) so orders can be modified.
Remove any custom symbol settings you have added like this. This may be causing the problem.

I really hate to keep bringing this up but I tried:
-completely removing the symbol settings from both the server instance and all sub instances
-removing all custom acsil studies from the dom
-Clearing the trade activity log in all instances
-Updating sierra chart to version 1978 *Edited*

Yet the issue still persists.
The behavior that happens is the position shows until price ticks back and forth maybe 5 or 6 times and then disappears.
I am trading out of a subinstance for better speed on trade execution, maybe there is something there that is mis-configured on my side?

It is definately some sort of problem with the subinstance. The behaviour does not happen in the server instance if I trade out of their.

Ok yes that does make sense. We do not have a solution to this then. At least not without causing major trouble for our Interactive Brokers users by making all of the futures symbols consistent.

You need to trade from the main instance of Sierra Chart.
