In my message board I keep getting the message"Cross reference detected between (charts in different time frames).
1- how do i determine the specific studies creating this cross reference/ and 2- How serious or important is it to eliminate this cross reference. I tried hiding a couple of studies suspected of creating the Cross reference to no avail.
Thanks

I am aware of this circular reference caused by the ovelayed studies 3 in 9 and 9 in 3. isn't this the whole idea of overlaying studies?
I have many studies in 9 (5mt) overlayed in (3 1m) from (9) to oversee what's happening in (9) while predominently monitoring(1), and likewise in (9) Vs (3).
So if overlaying studies between time frames inherently causes a circular reference ? are the two actions therefore mutually exclusive?.
Since the circular reference does'nt seem to be affecting my overall performance other than some periodic pop up nuisance of the error message, I am willing to put up with this nuisance for the benefits I derive from the overlay function.... Unless you advise otherwise for some unknown reason to me.
Kindly advise your thoughts on this issue and on my overall reasoning above Thanks

Same experience/issue I also use overlay in the same way with benefits althought the continue recalculation is affecting the performance not dramatically on overload CPU but for sure is not light, if you can find a software solution to avoid this it will be great, otherwise I will keep it like it is since on oveerlay study there's more value than the noise created.

We have no comments. The documentation is clear about this:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.9 References to Other Charts / Continuous Full Recalculation of Charts (30.9 References to Other Charts / Continuous Full Recalculation of Charts)

Some updates were made. Be sure to read it over.

There is a problem that needs to be resolved. This is not normal.
If there is continuous full recalculation of charts, as is evidenced by the Message Log messages below, or you have a circular reference, remove the studies that are causing the circular reference from one of the charts or have them refer to another source chart with a timeframe per bar and with the studies that you require, but which does not reference back to the destination chart which is referencing that source chart.

Still working at removing circular references. Is there a way of pinpointing exactly which study or studies are the culprits?

Yes of course. Lines like this specifically show which ones:

I am aware of the circular reference existence between charts 3 and 9. Problem is I have more than 100 studies in each of charts 3 ans 9. and my queation is finding a way of identifying which studies in 3 and 9 that are creating the problem.
Thank you

it would be very helpful if the message log indicated the study numbers(ID)) of the studies causing the circular references in the respective charts

We considered this but it is actually involved for us to do. It is not something we can allocate any time to and does add overall complexity.

But really it would be all of the studies on a particular chart which are referencing another particular chart. So it would be collectively all of those studies.

Thank you but not much of help, I have over 100 studies in each referenced chart. What is the exact definition of " Circular Reference?" is it same study contadicting another in a different time scale or just overlaying a chart in a different time chart. I do have a bunch of those ?, thanks
