Hi, I had short 8 and covered for a profit of close to 10k today. I am flat now and the money shows in my broker but on my sierra DOM where I always trade from, it shows 0.00 on the day. regular p/l also showing zero. I need to know why, please.

Thank you, it is already set/enabled that way. I have not changed a thing. It worked fine yesterday. I rebooted, etc...nothing.

What is already enabled that way? That page is quite extensive and goes into a tremendous amount of detail on this subject.

When you manually calculate the Daily Profit/Loss according to the detailed explanation and all of the related settings, you should get the same result that Sierra Chart does which is 0.

I should not get a zero, because, within the DOM and attached trade window, I am always able to see my PnL, both net and daily. However, today I set a target when I was up over 8k on the trade. Where I set the target I would have had over 10k in profit. When I came back 15 mins later my target was hit but PnL showed 0.00 on all. My broker see the PnL but this is the first time the Sierra DOM has ever behaved this way and I didnt change anything. I would like to know what happened in that 15 mins when my PnL was showing to when my target was hoiit and nothing displayed. This is obviously all on live trading, CQG data, etc....

I am not talking about mark to market accounting either. Simply that the numbers that have always shown, all of a sudden stopped. I did not make any other trades for the day to check it. I don't like trading w/o full confidence in my software. Thanks for all your help. I will keep digging into that page you pointed me to but I dont see it in there.

From documentation:
Finally, if support has referred you to this page, then as a matter of policy we do not provide any help beyond referring to this documentation with Daily Profit/Loss calculations. If you have a question about it and it does not look right, there is no further help we will provide.

Going through the steps on that page and understanding them, will eventually give you the answer. That there can be no doubt about.

We do not know the answer to the question without very careful analysis following the steps on that page and looking at your data and that is not a service that we provide.

Also you should never have full confidence in the Daily Profit/Loss value. There are too many things that can just simply go wrong none of which are within our control. This is why we just simply do not get involved in this beyond preparing and maintaining documentation.

This is why we always follow a strategy of transferring the burden upon the user since we do not have access to the data or have control over various aspects of this.

Actually there is another item we can add to the documentation which will allow you to simulate what the daily profit/loss is for any day so you can not lose the chance for evaluating this at any later point in time.
