Sierra Support, I have run Sierra Charts for quite some time with no issuses, but last night after running the charts for the trading day,I returned last night to find my charts frozen.I shut Sierra Charts down and attempted to restart them. The normal startup appeared to work but my Chartbooks start to load (as shown in my screenshot)but will not complete. Also noted on my Screenshot the Data Tab is showing (Not Connected).I hope you can assist in this problem Thanks, Rob |

The first thing we want you to do is to select File >> Connect to Data Feed and then provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#MessageLog In regards to the chart data loading issue, what we want you to do is to restart Sierra Chart and not use your existing Chartbook and open just a single Intraday chart for the June CL contract and see if there is any problem opening that chart data file. Hello, As soon as I open Sierra Charts up and the workspace is half loaded like I demonstrated from my screenshots,If I touch anywhere on the chart I am met with the spinning blue wheel. This just happened again when I tried to go to File..Connect to Data feed. One bit of added info to share which I just discovered is when I go into Safe mode,it will connect to Data with the green Connected Tab...Thanks Rob |

Okay, just continue to use Safe Mode. Are you running any custom studies? If so, refer to help topic 17: Sierra Chart Unexpectedly Shutting Down | Memory Errors | Unusual Software Problems | Exception Errors | Freezing of User Interface When using Safe Mode, is your Chartbook loading without any problem now? Okay do try opening the Chartbook in Safe Mode and see if it opens without any difficulty. Although the custom studies will not display.

Also for the record, we did call the user and the problem was not present at that time. We can only assume at this point that it was some kind of operating system level issue.
