Bar by Bar appearance in different timeframes

hello,

i am using 2 diferent timeframes 5min and 15 min,
the 2 charts are linked and the scroll position tab is checked on chart settings of each of the two,
I am on the last bar edge of the 5min chart (white arrow) and when i scroll by one bar instead of
viewing on the 15min chart the corresponding closing price(of that 5min candle) i get the closing price of the hole 15min candle(red arrow).
The same goes for the formation of the 15min candle.

So instead of painting the 15min candle formation and closing price at 3 stages it seems that Sierra has already painted the hole 15min candle.
Is there a way to scroll bar by bar on the 5min and see the 15min candle formmation and closing price as it should be at every step of the 5min movement?

You will need to use the chart replay feature for this:

Yes i am aware of chart replay function! ,

If chart replay function was able to move bar by bar (.. move each of 5min bars hitting space bar for example) would be great but it doesnt, i must wait or play in faster speed which is not what i was looking for.
Imagine that when i want to test my strategy quick for previous days for example (which i cant code due to MY limitation on writting code) i have to replay and hit pause every time the 5min bar closes which if i play in faster speed is difficult. If you could program that i would be greatfull.

Anyway i am quite happy with what you guys offer in general in your software and i respect a lot that you are straight forward

i Actually went and research in more detail the link you sent me and i found the way to replay
the chart based on this description hitting the pause and the chart forward tab
Replaying Charts: Stepping through Chart Bars One by One

BUT

if you put a 5min and a 15min chart it doesnt work as it should do ( form the 15min bar in 3 stages) . It has the same problem of 15min bar forming
before the time as it was in the example i gave you in my first post.

Yes that is one way but you can also jump to the next bar. This is documented here:

hello,

either i dont understand well what i should do or something else is wrong,

please if you could try to replay on your charts
2 diferent timeframe charts (5min, 15min), which are linked together with scroll potition / and try to replay with jump method to NEXT BAR using the jump forward tab

then you will see the following as a result

1> the 5min chart will move bar by bar
BUT
2> the 15min chart will form the HOLE 15min bar something that is not right in my opinion

then hit again jump forward tab one more time again and a second 15min candle will form ( but on the 5min chart total we have 2 5min bars)
So total for 5min chart is 10 minutes of bars formed but on the 15min chart total of 30min of bars formed.

The right result would be : moving the 5min chart by one bar AND GET the 1/3 of the move on the 15min chart AND NOT the hole 15min candle.
Maybe is a bit difficult for you to understand what i say because my english are not very good.

We apologize. You are actually right. This is indeed how it actually works. It would jump bar by bar on both charts.

The other charts (In this case the one 15 minute chart) do not act as slaves to the master controlling chart timewise. They are going to follow the identical jump to next bar action.

ok !
Would it be possible in a future update to make it work as i described?

To make it maybe easier i would say that when i tryed to use jump method BY TIME and UNIT 5minutes THEN the sierra behavior was
as it supposed to!! (15min candle was formed in 3 different stages)
The only problem with that replay setting was that it was not 100% accurate meaning that it would formed the 15min candle in 3 stages(this is right)
BUT
because of the time it takes to hit play and then pause the 5minutes started to count a bit later
SO....the time was ACTUALLY 5min INCREMENTS but the 5minutes started to count later (as much time it takes to hit PlAY and then PAUSE) with result of the candles closing on similar price but not ACTUAL PRICE .....because of the time that it takes to hit the PLAY button and then the PAUSE button,
In thinner Markets like YM futures the difference would be 1 to 3 ticks from the actual price.

SO A SOLULTION would be in that case that you make enable the jump forward tab (make it active) without having to hit play and then pause.
Meaning to start the replay with just hitting the jump forward tab

You can jump forward by a fixed time even when the replay is Paused. Therefore, you do not have to pause and resume the replay. This has always been supported. At least for a long time.

ok then in the photo i send the Jump Forward button should be working but its not. (the jump forward is not enabled..and i CANT push it)

The only action i have made in this photo is that I moved my charts to the place i want the replay to start and enabled the chart replay.

You have at least hit play and pause for one time for Sierra to let you use the jump forward button.
You said that ''You can jump forward by a fixed time even when the replay is Paused'' and i am aware of this.
But you have to PLAY and PAUSE for the first time.
This is what i meant in previous post by saying (as much time it takes to hit PlAY and then PAUSE FOR FIRST TIME) ...with an unwanted result (after that)....of the candles closing on similar price but not ACTUAL PRICE.
(after that first time.... the jump forward will work as you mentioned BUT with the effect i mentioned in the previous sentence)

You will understand this if you compare the 5min chart that it set to replay mode with one 5min chart that is not in replay mode

thanks for the time you devote so you understand exactly what i mean .
