ES#C Daily candle chart freezing on opening Sierra

This morning I am having trouble opening Sierra.
I currently have 3 chart books (EU#C, AD#C & ES#C) set to open automatically.
Both EU & AD open with no problems, however the Daily candle chart for ES loads very slowly & upon completion of loading forces Sierra to freeze. I have removed ES from the auto load on startup and Sierra loads with no problems for the EU & AD contracts. All other periodicities load on the ES contract (3 min, 15 min, Range bars etc) however the daily candles do not. I have cleared all studies from the daily charts and tried to 'Reload & Recalculate', I have 'Deleted & Downloaded Data' for the daily candle; but I still get the same issue.
I have not materially changed any settings on the chart recently & have never had this issue before.

Thanks in advance.

This is not relevant to the problem, but none of your charts should be using the Continuous Futures Contract option in Chart >> Chart Settings. This is not necessary when the symbol is a continuous futures contract symbol.

It sounds as though that you are creating a daily bar from Intraday data?

So the problem is when you see the chart saying "Loading" directly on the chart window for an Intraday chart, you are saying that Sierra Chart is freezing or nearly freezing and has high CPU usage? That is quite unusual of an issue especially if there is only one or two charts loading. You really should not notice that under any conditions. This would be a system issue. We would suspect the problem has to do with antivirus/anti-malware running on the system. Or something creating a heavy CPU load. However, the user interface in Sierra Chart should not be affected by this.

Try reducing the number of days being loaded into the chart for now. This can be done through Chart >> Chart Settings.

The problem is as you understand it yes - when chart says 'loading' it loads slowly,(ONLY THE DAILY CANDLE CHART which is an intraday chart - tick data) once it hits 100% Sierra chart freezes and I have to restart. It is not a CPU issue as my system monitor reflects only 12% CPU usage by Sierra Chart whilst it's happening. I only run Sierra on my trading station and have ample resources available to cover it.
I have tried reducing the amount of days - to no avail.
Again, I have not had this issue before and have not changed the amount of days loaded etc recently....

So to confirm, are there any studies on that chart?

Delete the @ES#C data file following the instructions here:

There are studies on the charts; VBP (daily) & long term composite. Some rectangles/horizontal zones - that is all. Will these be lost if I do the above process?

I have performed the necessary action; once the download is complete (STEP 4) the same thing happens. Sierra chart freezes up 'NOT RESPONDING'.

Indeed the situation is now worse - whereas before I could cancel the ES daily chart loading - now I do not have time; it loads immediately on startup of Sierra and freezes immediately.

Ok, for the time being I believe I have resolved the issue. ES#C Chart #1 was causing Sierra to freeze so I managed to cancel it loading on start-up just before it completed (thus stopping it freezing). I then closed that chart and reopened a new Daily chart with the same studies. For now it seems to work (possibly because RTH has just closed?). I will see how it goes tomorrow am.

Thanks for your attention so far.

The issue clearly has to do with your study configuration on the charts. There is something about the configuration causing high CPU usage.

Refer to help topic 30 here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/helpdetails30.html

The only solution is to start with a very simple set up and then add to it until you see the problem.

The charts were not particularly complex in terms of studies; possibly there was circular reference relating to transparent horizontal rectangles, of which there were several. All working ok for the moment. I will post here tomorrow if there are any further problems.

Thanks as always for your help.
