I'm currently on the evaluation period of Package 5 and have paid for the trial of Sierra Data Exchange Feed. When I load Sierra, the charts for futures symbols are delayed by ten minutes, but then never update. I've been through the steps in the troubleshooting guide, but cant see anything that would prevent real-time update. Thanks in advance for any help. |

We do not see that you have activated the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. Could you also read this page here about futures data: Is Historical and Real-time Futures Data Included? We do not see an activation of the Sierra Data Exchange Feed trial on your account. Please follow the setup instructions here (Starting with step #3): https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#SetupInstructions Or let us know and we will activate the trial for you. If you would like us to activate the trial for you, we would need to know if you have a broker and who they are. Sierra Chart Support Date Time Of Last Edit: 2017-10-13 23:08:44

I followed the instructions and was able to open charts correctly. However, when I restarted Sierra today, I had just a blank screen when I tried to open a chart. I went back through the instructions and found that there were some service agreements to sign. Did that and restarted Sierra. Charts were now visible but not updating. Also the following message appears: "Symbol is unknown. Click for symbol information. Exchange not authorized." Symbols concerned are GCZ17 and CLX17. I went back through the instructions but I didn't see anything else that should be activated for the charts to update. Am I supposed to activate one of the other exchanges even though I've stated that I will be using Sierra's Data Feed?

You do have to activate the exchanges for those symbols. The documentation does say that. That is absolutely necessary. As well as total and full compliance with the ridiculous exchange rules also absolutely necessary. Yes, this is a ridiculously frustrating process. We know and prepare to be frustrated further. But it is all documented. What futures trading/brokerage service do you use? And due to changes with CME rules, if you do not have a funded futures trading account, you cannot even get a trial for more than one of those symbols. They only let you get data for one of their sub exchanges. Then they want another US$90 a month. That is how ridiculous this has become.

Ridiculous is right! I thought I saw somewhere in your documentation that the Sierra Exchange Feed could be used on its own. Anyway, I managed to connect with my Gain Capital account and activate CME, so all is working now. Thanks for your patience. |

OK just let us know if you need more help. It is even more ridiculous than you realize. The policies of the CME are totally and completely insane. We are actually facing issues now with CME policies in relation to CQG that we have to sort through. These are ridiculous policies which will only end up hurting both the user and us. And there is even more we are aware of, in regards to exchange policies which are very detrimental. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
