Hi, I'm brand new to SierraChart but a friend who has used SC for years tried the same thing and it works for her. So probably this has something to do with my (new) configuration. Installed SierraChart, got logged in with CQG data feed. I primarily trade CL calendar spreads, but can't get them working/charting correctly. My friend has same CQG data feed and this WORKED FINE FOR HER, making me suspect it's a configuration issue. Problem 1 - Can't chart spreads for known symbol: Enter F.US.CLES12Z7 in FindSymbol dialog. From there if I click "OpenTrading DOM", it works fine - displays the DOM with correct price data. No problem. But if I create "Open Historical Chart", it opens a big black chart window, thinks about it for a few seconds, they displays "DOWNLOAD FAILED!" in a little red box. MY FRIEND WHO HAS SC+CQG DID EXACTLY THE SAME THING AND IT WORKED FINE FOR HER. So it must have something to do with my configuration??? Problem 2 - Can't retrieve symbols: In FindSymbol dialog, navigate to NYMEX Futures Spreads, then choose CL futures spreads. Once I have chosen that, it appears that the "Get Spreads" button is inteded to retrieve the available spreads for the selected category, but when I click it nothing happens. THIS IS PROBABLY RELEVANT: I am logged into CQG data feed and my desire/intention is to chart from CQG-supplied data. But I notice that when I navigate the tree in FindSymbol, the choice is "Futures Spreads - NYMEX (SC Exchange data)". Sounds to me like for some reason even though I am logged into my CQG data feed and connected to the server, the SC app is offering me choices that depend on the SC data feed, and maybe (just a guess) that's why it's not working? Thanks in advance, Erik |
