I have a situation where I use the Price Expansion tool to place Fibonacci levels on the chart. I also use the Horizontal Line Non-Extended tool to highlight key price points. If these two overlap at any level, I can only access whatever is on "top" (i.e. the last one moved or added to the chart). So, for instance, if I use the Horizontal Line Non-Extended tool to mark a price point on the chart, but then move (or add) my Price Expansion tool and one of the levels happens to sit over top of the Horizontal Line Non-Extended tool, I cannot select the Horizontal Line Non-Extended tool until I either move the Price Expansion tool out of the way, or use "Cut Drawing Here" or "Hide Level" on the Price Expansion tool to make the Horizontal Line Non-Extended tool accessible. But that, of course means, I then need to move the Price Expansion tool back to where it was, re-extend the Price Expansion tool, or unhide the level afterwards, all of which is kind of a pain.

In certain graphics applications, when you have two object that overlap, there is often a means to access the one underneath without moving the one on top, like holding down the control key and then clicking on the layered objects to toggle between them to select the one you want. They also offer a means to move the one on top to the very "back" or "backward" to then make the one underneath accessible the next time you click on it. Either one of these options would be helpful to me if, in the example above, the Horizontal Line Non-Extended tool happens to be underneath my Price Expansion tool and I want to move or delete it. Hope this all makes sense.

Maybe this option is already available and I just haven't figured out how to do it. If so, could you let me know how to do it? If not, could you give this some consideration at some point in the future?

Thank you again for all you do to make Sierra Chart the best trading platform out there!

This option is already available.

To select a drawing object in a cluster of drawings just press and hold the Alt key with the mouse click and it will cycle through the objects one at a time. A cluster is the same concept as layered or converging tool drawings.

It is documented here along with some other options to consider.

The reason for the delay with the answer from us is there is a lot here to read through.

Yes the functionality you are looking for is supported as has been already stated in the prior post.

Here is the relevant documentation:
Chart Drawing Tools: Converging Drawings

Chart Drawing Tools: Converging Drawings

Here is the documentation for erasing a drawing:
Chart Drawing Tools: Erasing Chart Drawings

Converging drawing support when erasing drawings is also supported when left clicking on drawings and multiple ones are selected.

We will explain this in detail in the documentation tomorrow.

Thanks to both canyon2 and Engineering for your input. I studied the links you gave in your replies and then played around with some of the tools. What I discovered is that I can select and subsequently move or delete most converging tools as described in the documentation. For example, I can do this if the Ray tool either crosses or runs parallel and underneath the Price Expansion tool. However, for whatever reason, this does not seem to work if the Horizontal Line Non-Extended tool is underneath one of the levels of the Price Expansion tool. I simply cannot select it (i.e. the little numbers never appear on the tools). If you run into the same thing in your attempts to do this, would it be possible to add this functionality to the Horizontal Line Non-Extended tool at some point in the future?

Again, thank you for your input and consideration! I know you are busy people and likely have more pressing issues to deal with than a small issue like this.

I played around with it again this morning (after a good nights sleep!), and discovered that I CAN actually select any tool I want by ALT left-clicking as long as I have the the pointer or hand tool selected. The thing is, up to this point, I have hardly ever had a need to use the pointer or hand tools. Usually I keep one of the other tools selected--like the Price Expansion or Horizontal Line Non-Extended tool--and when I need to move a drawing (or whatever other action I need to do), I simply right-click on the drawing to select it and then choose the appropriate action from the pop-up menu (move, erase, cut, extend, hide or adjust). Would it be possible to add the option to simply right-click as many times as necessary on a drawing-congested area to toggle and select the drawing desired? Once selected, you can then choose from the pop-up menu the action desired. I realize that when you select a drawing by right-clicking on it, the pop-up menu immediately appears, so using the ALT key may still be necessary until the right drawing is selected. Anyway, just a thought for some future time when you have a free moment (Yeah, right!) For now, I do understand what I need to do to get things done.

Again, thank you so much for your help and consideration!

Converging drawing selection works with either the Pointer, Chart Values or Hand tools selected.
